Today we had visitors from the Bloomington Green Home Tour. Chris Sturbaum of Golden Hands Construction hosted the tour through our as yet unfinished house. Since the drywall isn't up yet, it was easy to see the wall construction, the SIP panels, and the HVAC system, including the heat pumps that will provide the little heat necessary for the highly insulated envelope.
Though it was in the mid-80's today, when we entered the house it was cool. Everyone was interested to see how the SIP panels were constructed and how the house would "breathe" using the Heat Recovery Ventilation process.
It was good to see so much interest and enthusiasm for green building. Thanks to the Bloomington Commission on Sustainability, the Environmental Commission, the Center for Sustainable Living, the South Central Indiana Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council, and Wonderlab for putting together a terrific program today.
