It hasn't escaped the attention of oil man T. Boone Pickens and his company, Mesa Water, that water is the new "liquid gold". He is buying up the water rights for land above the immense Ogallala Aquifer, and plans to sell the water back to San Antonio, among other cities. So, even though we live a long way from Texas, we thought maybe it was time to start paying attention to water conservation and how buildings can use the rain that falls on them. We rushed online to join the American Rainwater Catchment Systems Association (ARCSA) and plan to attend its rainwater harvesting workshop to be held in Salem, Indiana on July 14th. We'll report back on our findings. Here's information from Chicago Rain Barrel. Image Credit: Chicago Rain Barrel.com
